Non-continuous monitoring involves collecting samples which are sent for laboratory analysis. Several stations within the CASA network monitor total suspended particulate (TSP) and metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), and volatile organic compounds (VOC) on an every 6-day or 12-basis.The non-continuous TSP and metal, PAH, and VOC data collected at these stations are included below. These results will be updated throughout the year, as laboratory results become available.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) currently has two temporary air monitoring stations ("Airpointers") located in the Sarnia area.
An Airpointer is a compact air monitoring station that can measure pollutant concentrations on an hourly basis.
The pollutants measured at these stations are provided below. The MECP is verifying data collected by the Airpointers and will be updating results throughout the year.
Facilities registered to the Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Industry Standards are required to monitor benzene or 1,3-butadiene levels at their fence lines (known as “property line monitoring”) and provide the results on a public website within 60 days.
Property line monitoring began on January 1, 2018. Results can be found on the facility websites at the links below.
