Monitoring Stations

The Clean Air Sarnia and Area (CASA) monitoring network is a combination of continuous (real-time), non-continuous, and additional air monitoring stations:

  • Continuous monitoring provides access to the CASA network's most current hourly air quality data.
  • Non-continuous monitoring involves collecting samples which are sent for laboratory analysis. This air quality data is provided in a report format when the laboratory results become available.
  • Additional air monitoring stations provide data from temporary stations and industry monitoring locations.

The table below lists CASA's air monitoring station locations and the parameters measured at each station.

CASA was formed in September 2015, and works to increase understanding and transparency related to local air quality in the Sarnia area by:
  • Sharing information about ambient air quality
  • Identifying and researching local air quality issues
  • Providing recommendations and information to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and BASES Environmental Monitoring
  • Educating the public about local air quality

Air quality data on this website are automatically polled from the Clean Air Sarnia and Area monitoring network and are intended for public awareness. Because the data is real time, they have not undergone complete quality control and quality assurance procedures, and so they may contain errors and are subject to change. The real-time air quality data on this web page are considered "unverified data" and should not be used in published documents. Data integrity and validity may be affected by instrument malfunctions, telemetry connectivity, QA/QC requirements, instrument calibration times or power outages. Real-time air quality data on this website are not meant for emergency response purposes. This website does not replace or supplement the existing emergency notification and response protocols, including Sarnia-Lambton Alerts.
