about casa

Clean Air Sarnia and Area (CASA) was established in 2015 to provide comprehensive access to local air quality data, enhancing understanding and transparency about air quality in the Sarnia area. The website displays near real-time air monitoring data from 15 stations operated by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), the Aamjiwnaang First Nation, and BASES Environmental Monitoring. Reports summarizing hourly, daily, and monthly data, as well as statistical analyses, are available to help the community better understand the science of air quality.

CASA’s community advisory panel consists of representatives from the public, government, First Nations, and industry, all working together to:

  • Share information about ambient air quality.
  • Identify and research local air quality issues.
  • Provide recommendations and information to MECP and BASES Environmental Monitoring.
  • Inform the public about local air quality.
